I am Brian Brink, an L1 trained coach. I have only been an official CrossFit member for about a year, but I’ve been devoted to working out in some fashion my entire life. I started lifting weights probably about 30 years ago. I’ve been involved in Strongman for the past 7 years running the event for the Iowa Games. I found CrossFit probably 6 or 7 years ago and started doing some workouts as a change of pace to my traditional training. I fell in love with it right away! The challenges are different and can be excruciating, which appeals to me as a way to improve my overall health. And the constantly varied aspect keeps things new and fun. I’m convinced that after 30 years of fitness, CrossFit is THE BEST way to improve your fitness, no matter where you start from.
My wife and 2 boys (ages 13 & 15) all do CrossFit as well. We live on an acreage just outside of Ames with our 2 dogs. Outside of fitness you can probably find us minding our rental properties, cheering for the Cyclones, reading, riding bikes, messing around with our 1972 GTO, or just enjoying the outdoors.
